What is the Honors Student Showcase?


The Honors Student Showcase is a campus-wide celebration where students share their research, creative work, and projects in a conference-style setting. Join us on Wednesday, April 15, from 4-7 PM at Kahlert Village to explore posters, talks, performances, and interactive tables showcasing the range of work happening across the Honors College.

*Registration includes access to free poster printing through Knowledge Commons.

Program Highlights


Oral thesis presentations
Hear students present their thesis research to a broad audience. These short presentations will highlight research questions, methods, and key discoveries across disciplines.
Poster Sessions
Students will share their thesis work in poster format, allowing for one-on-one conversation about their research. Drop in, ask questions, and engage with student researchers about their projects and findings.
Praxis Labs
See student teams present research questions, methods, and emerging findings addressing complex societal issues. Topics include workforce burnout, psychedelics and mental health, and the role AI plays in environmental exposure and health implications.

Student Publications
Celebrate the work by Honors students published in academic journals, literary magazines, and books published through the Novel Writing Workshop.
Study Abroad Panels
Faculty directors and students participating in Integrated Minors and Oxford Consortium programs will answer questions and offer reflections on their study abroad experiences.

Learn about nationally competitive scholarship opportunities like Fulbright and Goldwater. The team from ONCS will be there to answer your questions.

Visit Multiple Areas - Receive Honors Swag!
Pick up an event card at check-in, visit four or more areas, and return your completed card to receive an Honors giveaway. At the end of the event, three participants will be selected in a drawing to win a larger prize.

  • Any current Honors student is eligible to present.

    Register to present your work at the Honors Student Showcase here.

    We strongly encourage Honors students to also present their work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium that is organized by the Office of Undergraduate Research. 

  • Presenting at the Showcase offers students:

    • Professional conference-style experience
    • Public speaking practice
    • Faculty and peer engagement
    • Resume and graduate school distinction

    Students are also strongly encouraged to present their work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium organized by the Office of Undergraduate Research.

  • No. Works-in-progress are welcome.

  • Yes. The Honors College is pleased to offer free poster printing, which is provided through Knowledge Commons. Students will receive more information regarding this opportunity upon registration.

  • Yes. Faculty, students, alumni, family, and campus partners are welcome.

  • The Honors College deeply values the mentorship and partnership of faculty supporting student research. Thesis mentors and faculty will receive a formal invitation to attend the Showcase.

    We encourage mentors to:

    • Attend student presentations

    • Support student presenters

    • Encourage mentees to participate

    • Engage with interdisciplinary scholarship

    The Showcase reflects the strength of the mentor-student research partnership at the core of Honors education.
