L. Jackson Newell Liberal Arts and Sciences Lecture Series

The L. Jackson Newell Liberal Arts & Sciences lecture series showcases faculty across campus and their contributions to the university and the community. The lecture series was named after Jack Newell, because of his long-standing contributions to the liberal arts tradition in higher education. Awardees are chosen because their work highlights the enduring value of liberal arts and sciences for the challenges of today’s world.

Listen to a recording of this year’s lecture by Dr. Kendall Gerdes who was named the L. Jackson Newell Fellow this year. Dr. Gerdes spoke to students about how you can join our students in creating safe spaces within our community.
