Optional and competitive program that could support the thesis: Marriner S. Eccles Scholars Program
The major currently offers QAMO 2011 as an Honors course, but plans are in the works to offer more Honors courses in the near future.
Major-specific Thesis Proposal Process
The Honors College requires Thesis Proposal/Registration by the end of the third year. If your major has a separate additional Thesis Proposal Process, it is detailed here.
An clean, thoughtful, and succinct abstract must be submitted to and approved by the Thesis Mentor and DHL before registering the thesis in the Year Three Learning Community. This abstract must include a clear research question, as well as a plan for the data methodology. The source of the data should be included in the abstract, as it may not be approved if there is not have obvious access to required data.
Additional information for students
QAMO thesis writers are expected to begin work on their thesis 18 months prior to graduation.
While not required, it is encouraged that QAMO Honors students apply to the Marriner S. Eccles Scholars Program during the student’s sophomore or junior year.
