Departmental Thesis Requirements

HSP thesis is normally traditional format thesis, 20-30 pages. HSP also accepts article-based and policy based work (report).

Each academic department submits the specific requirements that must be met for a successful Honors thesis in its respective major. Joint Thesis

Most HSP students pursuing more than one major submit a joint thesis fulfilling the requirements of HSP and the other departments involved. The thesis is signed by all the involved Honors Liaisons.

How does the Honors Thesis relate to other aspects of the major, like a Capstone Project?

HSP students are required to take a capstone class, which involves a group policy project. Honors student can take their work in the capstone class and further develop the topic to write a thesis. This is not a ususal trend in HSP theses because capstone is taken in the last semester of the degree, and honors thesis topics are decided before the last semester.
