Traditional long-format theses
Each academic department submits the specific requirements that must be met for a successful Honors thesis in its respective major. If you are seeking more information on your department’s thesis requirements, please contact your Departmental Honors Liaison and/or the Honors Thesis Team in the Honors College.
Faculty Thesis Mentors
Career-line faculty and tenure-line faculty
Adjunct faculty members are eligible but not expected to serve as faculty mentors.
Continued Guidance Remotely: The departing mentor may continue to offer guidance and support remotely, through email, Zoom meetings, or other means of communication.
Transfer of Responsibilities: Another faculty member within FCS or a related field may take over the mentorship responsibilities.
Collaborative Theses
If a collaborative thesis is necessary and approved by the faculty mentor and DHL, the thesis shall contain an author contribution and reflection statement from the Honors student author at the beginning of the thesis.
Joint Thesis
A joint thesis is permitted.
Departmental coursework supporting Thesis
The student should register for FCS 4999 - Honors Thesis/Project.
