Thesis format
There are a variety of options available for educational psychology students completing their thesis, including traditional long-format theses, performance/exhibition with statement, policy-based work, etc. Students can participate in research projects, applied projects, and collaborative projects that demonstrate knowledge gained from their coursework in educational psychology.
Who is eligible to be a faculty thesis mentor?
Career-Line and Tenure-Line faculty are able to serve as a faculty thesis mentor. If a faculty member leaves before completion of the project, they are able to continue as faculty mentor with permission of the department honors liaison.
Are collaborative theses permitted?
A collaborative thesis is one where an Honors student works with one or more collaborators on the thesis.
Given the broad scope and application of educational psychology, collaborative projects are encouraged. Determination of individual or single co-authored theses will be determined on an individual basis depending on the project.
Are joint theses permitted?
A joint thesis is a single thesis that satisfies the requirements of multiple majors.
Yes, a joint thesis would be permitted and will be discussed on an individual basis.
How does the Honors Thesis relate to other aspects for the major?
Honors theses could be completed in conjunction with the degree requirement of a capstone project or practicum project.
