Departmental Thesis Requirements

Performance/exhibition + expanded artist statement.
Artwork - multiple works that address the thesis title in some way, and a written component. In place of a bricks and mortar exhibition, the artwork could be presented digitally as a website, or a different format could be utilized (consult with the Department Honors Liaison).

Each academic department submits the specific requirements that must be met for a successful Honors thesis in its respective major. If you are seeking more information on your department’s thesis requirements, please contact your Departmental Honors Liaison and/or the Honors Thesis Team in the Honors College.

Faculty Thesis Mentors

Tenure-line or Career-line faculty.

In the event that a faculty mentor leaves the University before the thesis is complete, the Department Honors Liason will either step into the role as faculty mentor or assign a replacement mentor with appropriate expertize.

Departmental coursework supporting Thesis

Senior Seminar or Capstone coursework. Honors Thesis work can springboard off of coursework but must be created in addition to graded coursework for a class.
