Unmuted: Youth Engagement in Public Discourse and Storytelling

This community-engaged Praxis lab examines civic literacy and youth voice through storytelling across traditional and digital media platforms. You will explore how young people see their role in community and how their stories can strengthen civic discourse, connecting concepts from journalism, science communication, civic engagement, public policy, social media and youth development.
We will explore questions such as: Where do young people engage with information and civic life in an era of digital content creation? What stories are missing? How can we bridge the gap between youth-created content and traditional civic discourse to create more inclusive participation?
