HONOR 3210 Travel Writing

Deadline: Aug 29, 2025

HONOR 3210: Travel Writing (CW)
Taught by Prof. Michael Gills

Go somewhere new. Be in awe. Write about it.

In Travel Writing, you’ll step beyond the classroom to explore the powerful connection between people and place. From far-off destinations to strange corners of the familiar, you’ll capture the magic of environments you’ve never truly seen before.

  • Self-directed trip to inspire your writing

  • Opportunities to publish your work

  • Potential to use your Creative Nonfiction Portfolio as your Honors Thesis (in select disciplines)

Whether you dream of writing from a bustling café in Paris or a hidden trail in your own backyard, this course will challenge you to see the world differently—and bring it to life on the page.

Eligibility: Honors students with junior standing (60+ credits, including in-progress)

*Seats are limited! Don’t just read about the world. Write your place in it.

Fall Semester - Friday: 2 - 5 pm
