Only students who have applied to the Honors College and have been officially admitted are allowed to register for Honors courses.
-
Students graduating from high school are invited to join the College on the basis of their high school record and composite entrance examination score. The standard for admission is an admission's index of 120 or above and a cumulative GPA of 3.5.
-
All other students, including transfer students, are invited to join who have a 3.5 university or transfer GPA or above.
-
The Honors College encourages students to use the online application and to apply only after they have decided to attend the University of Utah. An application can be processed only after the applicant has been admitted to the University.
- An entering, first-year student may seek special consideration for admission to the Honors College if she/he believes that the traditional academic measures are not indicative of her/his potential for academic success in the Honors College. Students seeking an exception to the Honors College admission policy must submit a portfolio for consideration. Please click here to download and print the portfolio application.
